Journal Club

Copyright and subscription licensing agreements dictate how electronic resources (e.g., articles, eBooks) can be used and shared with others. It can be confusing to navigate. To avoid copyright breaches:

Do:
  • Encourage all journal club members to join the Library
  • When using the catalogue share the permanent link of the record
  • When using a database share the citation details in an email
  • You can share the PDF if it's an Open Access (OA) article
Don't:
  • Share a PDF via email (unless it's OA)
  • Print off and share an article/chapter with others
  • Share an inter-library loan document with others

How to share via the Library catalogue

The Cite, Share and Save options appear in the top right hand corner. Selecting Share will provide a permanent link to the record, which can be copied/pasted into an email.

Most databases and platforms have similar share features that you can use.
