Booths and rooms available to book in the Austin Library: descriptions and booking procedures

There are various booths and rooms available to book for individual and group study in the Austin Health Library. This page outlines the booking criteria, booths and rooms available and instructions on how to book.

Booking criteria

To ensure everyone has equal access and is comfortable using the Library facilities and spaces: 

  • these areas cannot not booked for recurring team meetings, as regular teaching spaces or ongoing private study areas
  • bookings will be held for 10 minutes after starting time
  • please finish your booking session on time, so the next person can start their session promptly 
  • please remember to cancel your booking if it is no longer required
  • food is not allowed in any area of the Library - drinks are permitted
Booking instructions

Booking are made through the Austin Health Outlook booking system (except for the Innovation Space).
Booking instructions and further details about each space are below.
Mercy Hospital for Women (Heidelberg) and Austin students, please contact the Library for assistance. ​​​​​

Two soundproof booths that are suitable for video conferencing, confidential phone conversations or video recording.

Booth names

  • LTB-L4-Library Booth B1
    • Booth 1 has a smaller monitor to allow for extra desk room
  • LTB-L4-Library Booth B2
    • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Booth 2 has a large monitor & under desk keyboard tray 

 

3 hour maximum per person, per day.

Please remember to cancel your booking if it is no longer required.

The consult room is suitable for two-three person collaboration.

3 hour maximum per person, per day.

The Library Group Study room is suitable for small group collaboration.

  • wall mounted monitor for screen sharing and online meetings
  • sound bar for improved acoustics during online meetings
  • wireless keyboard and mouse
  • larger desk

6 people.

3 hour maximum per person, per day.

The Innovation Space, created in partnership with Microsoft, is designed to encourage staff to interact with technology and collaborate on health innovations. Bookings are prioritised for these activities. Bookings for other purposes may be cancelled to give access to innovation projects.

Bookings

Contact the Library. Include an outline of your reasons for booking this space. Include setup time in your request. The Library will respond to you via email.

Everyone is welcome to use the space when it is not booked.

Headphones and chargers

The Library has headphones and phone and computer chargers available for short-term loan. Please ask at the front desk.
